A large part of my job is explaining complex topics in a dynamic way - which is why I find illustration to be so important!
I am by no means an artist and I would never claim to be, I just like explaining things in as many ways as possible - which is why I like to draw for my students. When I was a student I found it incredibly frustrating that the only diagrams I had access to were the technical ones in my textbook, I want to make science accessible to everyone, but especially to my students, so I make diagrams that you, your kid, your mom, and your grandma can all read and understand!
Below is a collection of several illustrations I've done for my Biology students (keep in mind they are not sorted, for a sorted version of this gallery, please click here or look through my blog page). If you're a teacher looking to incorporate graphics into your lessons or a student who needs a little extra help breaking down energy dynamics or any other potentially confusing topic, please send me an email! I am always happy to help and to provide feedback if requested!
I also post videos and drawings regularly to my Instagram account, you can find me @cmlovesscience!
